Can I bring my own bike?
Yes, you are welcome to bring you own bike to ride on any of our tours.
I don’t drink alcohol, will I still enjoy the tour?
All of our tour stops have great non-alcoholic options, your tour includes a drink at each stop, but it does not have to be alcoholic. Prefer an alcohol free tour? Check out our café tours.
What type of bikes will we ride?
We ride Schwinn cruiser bikes on all tours. They are very beginner friendly and photogenic.
What type of roads will we bike on?
Our tours starting in Picton are completely trail based, the only time you will be on a road is when crossing it. Our tours starting in Wellington are a mixture of trail and quiet farm roads.
How far is the tour?
Our tours range from 12km-25km. They take anywhere between 3-6 hours. Looking for a longer route? We often plan custom gravel and road tours for longer distances. Just send up an email bikethecounty@gmail.com to inquire.
I am not a biker, will I still enjoy the tour?
Yes! Our Beer + Wine tour is the perfect tour for beginners. Our bikes are step-through (very easy to mount and dismount) with large comfortable seats, we ride at a slow social pace, and are always on a trail.
Is it easy?
Difficulty depends on your skill level, however our rides are focused on fun - and not meant to be difficult! Most of the time our tours are one third riding and two thirds visiting the destinations.
Can I rent an E-bike?
We offer e-bike specific tours that focus on experiencing local towns, shops, and cafés. We do not offer e-bike tours focused on visiting breweries and wineries.
What if I want to bike farther on my tour?
If you’d like to add an extra stop, visit somewhere specific, or increase the length of your tour, send us an email to bikethecounty@gmail.com
What kind of footwear should I wear?
We always recommend wearing closed-toe shoes while cycling.
What should I bring on my tour?
We recommend checking the weather before your tour and making sure you bring the appropriate clothing, footwear, sun protection, and rain protection. Our tours run rain or shine.
Can I buy beer and wine to take home during the tour?
Absolutely! Your guide will be equipped to carry wine and beer back with you, or stock up at your last stop. Alternatively - many stops will save your purchases for later pickup, or even deliver them to your accommodations.
Can I book a corporate event?

Do you have a tour referral program?
